À propos d'Olivia
A perspective shaped between Korea and Paris
I’m Olivia, a Korean ceramic artist based in Paris.
I studied industrial design in Korea before completing a Master’s degree in Arts plastiques in Paris.
Having worked as a designer in Korea and as an artist in Paris, I have long been interested in connecting design, art, and the objects we encounter in everyday life. Through ceramics, these different interests have gradually found a common direction.
What draws me to ceramics is the way it allows me to explore both beauty and function. I seek to create objects that naturally become part of everyday life while bringing a quiet sense of beauty to it.
Living between Korean and French cultures continues to shape the way I see forms, materials, and the objects that surround us. I find inspiration in the simplicity, restraint, and sense of space of Korean aesthetics, the distinctive character of everyday life in Paris, and the small details that often go unnoticed.
Olivia Céramique
Thoughtful forms for everyday rituals
Olivia Céramique is an independent ceramic practice rooted in these ideas.
My ceramic practice begins with an exploration of form, proportion, and texture. Rather than relying on excessive decoration, I seek beauty in subtle details, carefully considered forms, and the distinctive qualities of handmade objects.
Each piece is made slowly and in small quantities, intended to be used, lived with, and appreciated over time.
Objects made to be lived with.
